Well that's my christmas cancelled.....

I think yesterday was cursed... 🙁

I was rudely awoken at 8:30am by a dripping sound,
when I realised there was water leaking through my bedroom ceiling.
had a look in the loft and realised there was water seeping through the roof down the side of the chimney breast.
it had been raining so hard all night and was extremely windy so I guess this combination did something damaging.
I rang my dad at work and he said he'd be home as soon as he could, which turned out to be 4pm.

I put blankets around the base of the chimney to soak up the dripping.
the rain had eased off but started up again about 2 hours later
so I went upstairs to make sure it was no longer dripping into my room
as i started to head up the stairs I heard a dripping but it sounded like it was behind me... 😕
I turned around and came back down following the sound...
then realised water was dripping from above the front door!!!! oh
We have a bay window in our frontroom that has a hole which leaks when there is heavy rain and so I assume that as the front door is connected to the porch roof with the bay window it must be
to do with that... 😬
so then I put a towel under the leak at the door as there was nothing I could do.
we have to put a bowl under the leak in the bay window everytime it rains...

Then my dad returns home to check the roof, starts to climb up the ladder (without telling anyone he was going up there)
and the ladder slips out from under his feet leaving him suspended from the loft trapdoor!
luckily I was in the next room and rushed out to put the ladder back under him.
he hurt his arm as he fell and has bruised his ribs because he had to grip on to the loft hole to stop himself falling but luckily that was all.

and all of them are proffesional jobs which we can't afford to pay anyone to do.
so my dad will have to fix them in a makeshift way which will probably not last long.

So xmas is cancelled as all money needs to be saved to pay for the repairs... cry
and I can happily live without presents at xmas but it still depresses me.

well that is a tiny window into my sucky life... thank_you
