They actually tried killing MJ once. In one of the Spiderman comics (a recent one, not the good ones from the old days) They killed her off. They got so much negative mail that the created some retarded plot twist to bring her back. Trust me, MJ's not going anywhere, wether you like it or not.

Well maybe they shouldn't kill her (being the lead character's love interest) but the should at least rewrite her but also select someone else for the part. Someone with talent and that has an appearance that does NOT make me want to puke (as Dunst has neither). It's really not fair, Mister Fantastic gets to marry Jessica Alba but Spidey is doomed to be husband of K. Dunst. I may not be a big fan of Mary Jane (comic or movie version) but at least the comic book version is sexy Dunst looks like she's part of the bad guys from "The hills have eyes".
Hell no. I like MJ. I don't know much about Gwen Stacy (because I never saw her in the comic besides when she liked Pete and was competing with MJ. She got a make over and she was hot. BUT, I do know Ultimate Gwen Stacy. I really liked her. Her personality, looks, brains, all of it was good. I like Ultimate Gwen better than Ultimate MJ but in 616, it's the other way around.
I don't know what to think of MJ in the movies. She reminds me of Lana from smallville.

That annoys me but MJ is MJ. She's not going anywhere. I still like her but only because of her comic self.
Who knows? Movie Gwen may be even worse. I just hope she makes it through just this movie alive at least.

i think you'll find some of us find Ms dunst amazingly sexy 100% better than MS alba cos she has talent! The role is badly writen i'll give you that, but have you seen kirsten in any well writen films? She is a great actress, whereas jessica i just a pretty face and not great at doing that either!
Yes I've seen K. Dunst in other movies and I still think she doesn't have any real talent. Now I didn't understand your first sentence. If you are I am going to have to disagree with you, Dunst is just another wanna be actress, the reason I put J. Alba above Dunst is because they both have a similar amount of talent, however Alba has sex appeal that Dunst simply doesn't have. I don't judge people just on appearance but since I think they have the same amount of talent I need to find something else to compare them by. My comment about Alba was about the fact Mary-Jane in comics is a hot while Dunst is not, that and the bad acting and badly written role are the only real problems I have with these otherwise INCREDIBLE movies.

small soldiers, wasn't great but still an enjoyable performance
the crow salvation, not the best crow but she is great in it
spidermans! a bad role but trys hard at it!
jessica the only good films i remember her in are
sin city not cos of her cos its a dam good film
and fantastic four which wasn't one of the best superhero film

I think Jessica Alba is better looking IMO.
They both have okay acting ability. If not for there good looks, they wouldn't be famous.

I prefer the idea of having Brice Dallas Howard (shes a natural redhead after all) as a more symapthic, more nurturing MJ that could act as Peter's sort of "moral compass", if you get what I mean.

Yeah I think Dunst was a poor choice as MJ. In the comics she is way more supportive.
