Hmmm...
Tis a tricky question.
They're kinda equal, in lots of ways.
Both came out under Dr. Dre as ferocious young rappers who changed the game. Edge: Snoop
Both had huge commercial success. Edge: tie
Both have successfully branched out to be movie stars, and have clothing lines. Edge: Eminem
Both own their own record label and spawned mediocre crews (DPG and D-12, I don't count 50 cent or g-unit since it's like its own seperate thing)
Edge: Snoop
Both have put out newer albums that are commercialized and don't live up to earlier greatness. Edge: Tie.
As far as MC's ... Edge: Eminem.
It's tough to call in overall impact who became Dr. Dre's best protege, especially since niether is done recording yet, and they could still (hopefully) dig down deep for one last great album produced by Dre.
I think the greatest thing is Dre's record for launching/ bolstering rappers in the game:
NWA
Ice Cube
Snoop
2Pac- didn't need his help, but Dre made some of his dopest tracks
Eminem
50 Cent
The Game (who now may go to shit by his 3rd album without having Dre behind him)
Plus, his own albums are dope classics.
Can't wait for Detox, and just hope that these two proteges em and snoop give one or two hot guest appearances and shut up to let the good Doc speak on some game-changing new beats.
I really can't decide on which one, but I'm voting for Slim just because I think he has the better chance to turn it around in his career.

Not to sound stupid, but wouldn't that make him better? I mean. wouldn't it?
Depends.
The question was who is Dr Dre's best protoge, not which of Dr Dre's protoge is the best rapper.
Although primarily what they do is rap, I took the question in a more general way, considering: impact at time of release, influence on the rap game, crossover success to movies, record label ownership/clothing line ownership, career history of records, and lastly, rap skill.
And not to sound stupid, but I voted for Slim.
