*can't think of a title*

"If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about." - Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance

...and i don't even listen to My Chemical Romance.

😐

*thinks Im better than 16yr old in a Greenday shirt* 13

The hell you sellin'?

Considering who said it, I wonder how much he was paid to be a complete and total hypocrite.

Enlighten us about how he's being a hypocrite?

Hmmmm. Guy from one of the biggest scenester/poser "I'm popular because I'm on MTV" bands that is only known of because of how they're sellout whores, talking about what music is about.

He wouldn't know what music was really about if it bit him in the ass.

He's basically saying all those emo losers with the same hairstyle and same clothes who go to concerts are there for the image instead of the music, which is kinda what he is doing in his band in the first place.

What's music about to you?

How can someone who says music is about being yourself yet is in a band that doesn't do anything but what they're told able to be taken seriously?

Maybe if they like, you know, practiced what they preached...

I don't watch a lot of their videos and know nothing of the band, but I like their CD and listen to them anyways.

Honey, if you don't know that the only reason many bands like MCR are popular is because they do what their record labels tell them to in order to sell CDs, you know little of the music industry. That's the sad truth of a good deal of the mainstream.

I don't really follow bands, I can't lie.
I buy CDs because I like what I hear in preview etc.
