top 3 hip hop songs of all time

Okay I know this is very hard but just attempt it, I'm rather curious to see what people have to say, i might learn a song or 2, oh and btw please refrain from putting a 50 cent song in your top 3 because the songs have to be good =]

dont worry. no on these forums can stnad 50 cent or any of that crappy g-unit.

top 3? that's difficult. there are too many great hip hop songs out there. whatever comes to my mind:

1. Eric B & Rakim- My Melody
2. Common- I Used to Love HER
3. Public Enemy- Bring the Noise

there are tons out there

Well thats good, I just cant stand music like that. To think about it, its not even music. anyways my picks are
1. Follow The Leader by Rakim
2. Halftime by Nas
3. N.Y State of Mind by Nas

I know this is a crappy list but its the 1st that came into my mind

Bah...the restrictions are too limited. There was Hip-Hop before 1994, though.

yeah, cuz not 50 cent and good are pretty limited restrictions.

I was going to throw a few out there, then just realized that it's not at all fair. Add a 0 to that 3, and then we'll talk. Consider who would get left out and for what..

"I'm Bad", "Paul Revere", "Juicy", "The World Is Yours", "Dead Presidents 2", "The Message", "Lyrics of Fury", "Fight the Power", "They Reminisce Over You", "CREAM", "Scenario".....

The list goes on and on, and I just love music, and real Hip Hop to even try and choose. I grew up on this shit. I can't do that.

Beastie Boys - B-Boy Bouillabaisse
The Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy
Outkast - Ms. Jackson

Slick Rick - Children's Story
Snoop Dogg - Murder Was The Case

respiration by blackstar and common was an ill track too

The whole paid in full album.
The "Message" is up there,in the top 5 for me.

1. The Message - Melle Mell
2. summertime - fresh prince & jazzy jeff
3. nuthin but a g thang - snoop and dre

hm:
i used to love her - common sense
life's a ***** - nas

I'll just throw some out for fun..I'm on a pretty hardcore Hip-Hop kick.

Jazz (We Got the..) - A Tribe Called Quest
It Ain't Hard To Tell - Nas

In my world '3' means '5', so here are 3 that I think are hot:

Concrete Schoolyard - J5
Changes - 2 Pac
The World Is Yours - Nas
Prophets Of Rage - Public Enemy
Regulate - Warren G

They're all great tracks, but what makes them doubly good is that I can reel off their lyrics as they play.

Wurd.

Marley Marl feat. Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Graig G, and Masta Ace- The Symphony
Wu Tang Clan- C.R.E.A.M.
Rakim- Paid In Full
KRS-ONE- The Bridge Is Over
Dr. Dre- Nothing but a G Thang (since I can't put Ghetto Quran by 50 Cent)

Afraid so. Ghetto Quran's the song he snitched on Irv, Ja and 'Preme on.

Back to the point, picking a top three obviously is tough, but three I really like...

Biggie's "**** You Tonight"
Wu-Tang's "Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off)"
and Jay's "Threats"
