Choose 5

...of the greatest rock/pop songs of all time, that a panel of music historians could choose from that would likely rank in their Top 3.

For instance, I'm guessing that out of these 5 songs (Hey Jude, Satisfaction, Imagine, Layla, Hotel California) "most" historians would rank them in their Top 3, maybe not-I don't know.

Perhaps, better said: rank the 5 best songs of all time in your best possible unbiased opinion. Have fun and good luck. I was having a difficult time trying to get Stairway to Heaven in there. But, I didn't know which I should drop. 🙁

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Ray Charles - What'd I Say

Those would be five albums that I love and think that critics would also say are among the top songs of all time. They're not necessarily my favorite songs (I think only What's Going On would crack my personal top ten).

Actually, as silly as this may sound, that song is excellently sung.

The greatest and most influential songs are not necessarily my favourite so I decided to choose one from some of the bigger movements in music.
Pop: Billie Jean- Michael Jackson
Grunge: Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana
Heavy Metal: Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin
Beginning of Rock: Hey Jude- The Beatles
Rock Roots: Johnny B. Goode- Chuck Berry
