Thanks Guy, Kaya does great work.
Everything has its opposite. Thousands of years ago when ancient civilizations thrived around the globe, a demon was borne in the Earth’s most desolate desert, parented by man’s vileness. His claws and teeth were as sharp as man’s deceit, his intellect as keen as man’s ambition, his handsomeness and charm as seductive as man’s lust, and his sinew and flesh as strong and terrible as man’s greed. These horrible producers ran along the ley-lines of the Earth and caught at a nexus point in that terrible desert where it churned and cultivated into the demon known as Islock. Islock spent a century in the desert reflecting on his existence. Not fully understanding his conception, he embarked on a journey to observe his parents. He walked the Earth for a thousand years observing and experimenting. During this time he met what would become his right hand, a minotaur fire demon named Bal-Greach, a powerful siren and his future wife, Kahleen (with whom Islock fathered five sons and two daughters), and a humanoid who harnessed his power through the dimensional fault lines of the universe. Islock outright asked the first two to join him. They were demons and considered equals. The humanoid was tested by Islock. The test lasted for 20 years before the humanoid was deemed worthy. The test and the whole affair of bringing the humanoid into the fold is a crucial part, but needs to be saved for later.
al part, but needs to be saved for later.
Islock saw how man treated each other, and understood. All of the immoral acts and emotions were related to power. People who wanted power did what they needed to get it, and the people who had power did what they needed to keep it. Power is what the humans wanted. They trampled and crawled over each other to get it like pigs in mud struggling for an apple. Power is what Islock had. The human’s evil deeds and callous, hate filled hearts created him, and in that creation gave him what they desired above all else: power. He came to the conclusion that he would reveal himself for what he was and rule over the disgusting, pathetic humans. He decided he would travel to the cultural center of Earth, Atlantis, to commence his plan. Besides being a conduit to announce his reign, it was also the most powerful place on Earth with the most ley-lines converging at a single point on the planet, conversely, it was also the most dangerous place on Earth for Islock. For if anyone on Earth possessed the power to destroy him it was in Atlantis. The Atlantians were powerful creatures who were much more adept in energy use than most humans. It was perfect.
A word on Atlantians: Atlantians were and still are human. However, the disconnect comes from the Atlantians declaring that they are much more. When Atlantis was settled, the settlers knew its incredible power source, hence the settlers were able to use energy much more efficiently than anyone else. It was later discovered that certain people had a propensity for energy use. Naturally these people attracted mates with the same propensity. Ten years after Atlantis was settled, a society and government was established. It was around this time that the Atlantians started using the name “Atlantian” not so much as a place of origin but as a being. The Atlantians believed in individual rights and freedoms, but put posterity and the good of the community above all else. Due to this belief, only the strong (both in energy use and physical strength and stamina) were allowed to mate. Over two centuries later the Atlantians were markedly different from all other humans on the Earth.
