I'm not sure how I'd have them at the gate - having the weights just mounted at my wrists or have my hands turn into metal or stone or something in whatever position they're in. But when activated they just fall straight to the ground, possibly making a drawbridge sound, as if I have some kind of magical roll of chain up my sleeves. I suppose the forearm part could have some kind of metal cap on it. Perhaps from magical bracers.
Besides being awesome, additional powers would be hovering and a shield by spinning them in above and/or in front of you. And I suppose flight from hurling the flail and riding the momentum. Similar powers to Thor but they do these things because they don't make sense, not magic.

Sage can sort of do this. She can analyze/ download anything she wants with her cybernetic glasses that allow her to access the any computer/internet. She also processes the information faster allowing her to learn it instantly. Echo can just see someone using a weapon and imitate everything they do, sort of what your talking about, but not exactly.
