What? defeating Kankuro, which in turn enabled Sasuke to defeat Temari, which enabled Sasuke get to stall Gaara long enough for Naruto to come and defeat him isn't plot changing? If it wasn't for Shino Sasuke would have gotten curbstomped and Sakura probably would have gotten killed as well.

But, I mean, it could have been anyone. Sasuke's personality made him defect, yadda yadda yadda, Shino is just a "Person X"
