woah...hoshi you mean business!
PaulvsRyu:
Strengh: i would say it is a draw, or maybe paul has a slighly advantage in here since he destroyed a boulder with a punch, but ryu is no pushouver and is able to stay in horse stance even with a rock almost as big as the one paul destroyed.
if you compare similar feets then no. if ryu can pick up a boulder that by no means he can destroy it with one punch. also notice that Paul destroys walls for practice. also the punch he does it with is the normal phoenix smasher and NOT the burning fist which would be his strongest move.
Speed: Well , Paul was never a very fast tekken fighter , although in his first tekken show paul doing some fast stuff, he isnt as fast as ryu, who is able to dodge bullets easily and is used fighting projectiles.
don't use anime to back you up, mang. ryu cannot dodge bullets. he only did it in the SFalpha anime...and that anime sucked big time. as far as projectiles go well it doesn't mean anything since "hadou-ken" canonwise is like being hit by a well laid kick. it doesn't mean much against a guy who can take out a bear with one punch. notice also that in Tekken series projectiles are MUCH STRONGER yet godtiers like Devil and Ogre were beaten with the likes of Jin and Heihachi who were most likely beaten by Paul in T3.
otherwise, i agree with you. Ryu is probably faster.
Tech: That one goes to ryu , no doubt, the only thing paul has against ryu are the throws, since he is a judoka i guess it is his strongest point (together with his natural strengh) , but ryus moves like the tatsumaki sempukyaku , shoryuken , hadouken , and also his normal kicks and punchs totally overcome paul who has a slow-but-strong style. His tatsumaki for example , is way harder to do than the somersault paul failed to copy from his friend law, and ryu is able to use the sempukyaku in a much more efficient way than laws.
are you sure? you're telling me that a guy who only has three moves is more technical.
sho-ryu-ken: Paul's taken on Kazuya twice. He drew with him prior to T1 and lost to him in T1 after a great battle. he possibly beat Jin in T3. he also likely beat Hachi in T3. all three of them use the dragonuppercut that is pretty similar to shoryuken. not only that but Paul is also capable of reversing it by either a throw or a bonebreaking hold.
tatsumakisenpuukyaku: again nothing great since "rising sun" is similar to tatsumakisempuukyaku but takes it to the next level by being a four spin move with jump, two sweeps and a high back spin. All the mishima's use it but Paul's taken 'em on head on and won.
as far as Ryu's normal moves go...no beef, but please. as it is most of Ryu's moves are lacklustre. backspins, sidekicks, lowkicks, a hook, an uppercut, a haymaker, a jab, a jump backspin and a powerful straight. these are basic. Ryu doesn't even have a roundhouse in his aresnal which is probably the MOST basic kick around. Paul has all these along with tackles, throws, headbutts, elbows, shoulder attacks, hammer punches, haymakers, palm attacks. he also has good evasive moves like rubberband attack which employs a cool swaying motion to pick up momentum for a well delivered palm strike or a hammer punch. so no, Paul's move technical.
Experience:Although paul is older than ryu , they have fought in the same numbers of tournament , and they have fought against the best of the world , ryu is very used to guys like paul ,a judo and karateka expert , with a very strong punch , but paul isnt used to fight guys with projectiles and so many aerial moves that can conect midair(way different from laws triple somersault kick).
Ryu has fought in SF1, SF2 and SF3.
Paul has fought in T1 all the way till T5...and one before T1 where he fought Kazuya.
also Ryu isn't used to grapplers. we don't know if he's ever fought Zangief...who probably the only good grappler, thrower in the game. he fought Hugo but Hugo has only power throws...not even half as complicated or half the number of throws that Paul employs. also ryu hasn't fought anyone with good reversals or bonebreaking throws/reversals.
Power: law was never known for his strengh , ken isnt too strong either, but i bet he is stronger than law for their body, ken is like Francisco filho, while law is like jet li
dude Law can send people a few feet away with his one inch punch. that's lots of power there.
Speed:The strongest point for law, but i would say he isnt much faster than ken, everything law did ken did better. But i will say law is a little faster than ken.
agreed, but what does Ken do better than Law?
Exp and tech the same for ryu vs paul
yeah, me too. 🙂
Look forward to what you gotta say, hoshi.
Take care.
