Good movie, but a movie loses points if I know the ending before the ending.
The effects were everything they're hyped as and more.
Plot wise it was alright, but predictable.
Good movie, but as art it was even better. The effects deserve to be legendary, the plot doesn't, though it was good.
Massively overrated, though. In part due to the kind of person who says that the colours and characters looked the best ever, factually. Having the best technology doesn't mean you have to find them the best by preference.
Technology does not prove aesthetic. There is no factually best colour, get a grip.

Loved the movie!
The story's been done way too many times already, but at least it was good and most importantly: the FX weren't the movie, they served to tell the story, which is IMO the first in this time of heavy CG crutch we're living.
I also, surprisingly, loved the 3D. The whole movie is entirely 3D, but is far from gimmicky. It served to immerse you in the world, and not just shock you with gimmick arrows and missiles and what not usually found in 3D movies... and they were pretty well done: to the particles (ashes, gas and those "seeds"😉 flying across the screen to the holoprojector in all the computers... superb!
the FX are a whole other beast: while some scenes do come across unreal, the rest of the FXs are top notch, the entire moon of Pandora looks as real as shot from the Amazons will look.
The acting is serviceable, at least not campy, but it serves its purpose...
Overall: a must 3D cinema viewing

Hey, troll. If you had any drop of intelligence, you'd know that I was referring to polygons, color diversity; surface, background, ambient, etc. etc. lighting effects; motion capture, facial expressions, and surface texture complexity. But, hey, you can go ahead and troll by pretending my comment meant something it didn't. These are fact based, can be measured quite easily by both the required processing power and new or inovative uses of CGI. Again, THAT aspect of it cannot be argued against.
Now, you CAN argue about how good the artwork was as that is extremely subjective. You can't, however, argue about the complexity of the CGI and Horse Power required to run it.
hehehe
My GF and I were late to the movie, since she didn't see it from the begining she kept thinking it was like Matrix (the way they use their avatars) so she didn't like the movie, she was bored, until the battle at the end (she loved that)
I came in the room at least 12 minutes before her. I let her to buy and carry the popcorn and drinks all by herself
.... yeah., I'm that much of an ass 😈
