Logical extropolation, especially including things that Lucas had a hand in, is not totally out of line.

It means so far, with the canon info we have, magnaguards were only there to guard Grievous. No to be part of an army. So they might be special droids.

I'm not saying his guards didn't fight, they very well could have, there just isn't enough proof to support it.

No, by him fighting at Utapau shows that he is capable of fighting in battles and against Jedi, so it would be a "safe" assumption that he fought in other areas throughout the war.

Face, it, he was a coward, who always run.

He was intelligent, who knew when a battle was lost.
