Dirk the winner of worst new year 2007
I am the winner of worst new year 2007.
For the past month I have not been feeling well; I was always pale, dizzy, had numb hands and feet, no apatite, and everything tasted like cardboard. I didn't think much of it just thought that I sick. All my symptoms kept getting worse so on the new year I decided to go to the ER.
At the ER they took my blood pressure and it was 233 over 132 which is very high. They then drew some blood and all my creatinine level was 17.9 and normal is 1.2. They admitted me into a room and did test for the entire day. They found out my kidneys weren't functioning at all they call it End Stage Renal disease (ESRD).
Then stabbed a catheter into my aorta and started a process called dialysis which is were they take out all the blood in my body and filter it then put the blood back into my body. I was in the hospital for 10 days receiving treatment and I got released yesterday and have to go to dialysis 3 times a day and each treatment last 4 hours. The only good thing is that if I didn’t go to the ER I probably would have died within 2 days. I will have to do dialysis until I get a kidney transplant which will take forever.
