Hurts your privacy and I'm against it but I wouldn't say it's big brother watching you. Just big brother tracking you down if they ever find a printed copy of something illegal...

Which basically means you already broke the law and you can still easily avoid the cops by just buying a second handed printer on e-bay or whatever.
