Obama denounced the controversial political statements of Wright, but refused to remove him from his campaign. Wright later "retired," effectively removing himself from the campaign. Four days later, Obama gave a speech addressing the historical and social contexts that have shaped the views of Wright, essentially explaining away his behavior.

It is not known whether he left on his own or whether he was asked to leave. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23634881/

He retired from the church, not from the campaign.

Either way, he is not on the campaign anymore.

“I think there was recognition that he’s obviously on the verge of retirement, [that] he’s taking a sabbatatical and that it was important for him to step out of the spotlight in this situation,” Obama said in an interview on MSNBC's “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”

Good Lord! He was fired.

Yes. That still doesn't say whether or not he was asked or pressured, or if he strictly volunteered. It isn't said who it was 'important' to, him or the campaign. Again, the retirement in question is a retirement from preaching, not the campaign.

It sounds that it was a mutual agreement on both sides, really.

Either way, you earlier made it sound like he was still associated and on the campaign. The important thing is to clarify that that is not the case.

No.

But I thought I recalled you supporting him when you lived in Illinois. Not that it means you have to now, but I thought you liked him.

Frankly... it sounds like he was fired with incredible vigour.

He may as well have said "We told him to get the **** out of here as soon as possible" in front of a giant neon sign saying "He was fired."

Hahaha.

I voted for him when he was running for state Senate, but he is not my choice for president.

Ah...there is no question I'd love to have Obama representing me in the senate.

Are you talking State Senate or U.S. Senate?

YouTube video

There have been a lot of contraversies over Obama lately. Like that video of that guy who did Coke with him, him being a racist, etc.

To be honest, if he did Cocaine or racist actions in office, I'm sure FOX would absolutely rape him for it. Along with the other news networks.

Also, I fear hillary will win Pennsylvania.

There has been an article about Obama in the latest Reason. Apparently he exaggerated his drug history immensely. Refreshing to see a politician do it that way, still, dishonesty is dishonesty.

Since he's an mulatto, have they specified who he's supposedly racist against?

He says his grandmother was a racist, and that she was a typical white person. No out of context bullshit either, he went on to say that white people in an American society are typically racist.

no he didnt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxmEz8H33ZI&NR=1

he already explained that he referred to her generation, and even implied thus in the clip you posted. and guess what? he's correct. again, he never said that white americans are typically racist. you are just convoluding his statement to form what you wish, when in fact its complete horseshit.

"Typical white person who... ahhh... if she sees someone on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been breed into... ahhh... our experiences, that, that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way."

Edit: Was that clip parsed?

et tu robtard? do i have to be the only person to present a quote in context?

*continued*
"...we have to break through it...and what makes me optimistic is that you see each generation feeling a little bit less like that."

obama already admitted that he was clumsy in his wording. the basic message was that the oldest generation of white people is typically racist as opposed to younger generations, as per social conditioning. he is right. why is the truth offensive? should he sugar coat the obvious so that white people wont be offended? ...by the ****ing truth?
