Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows release date confirmed

July 21st 2007.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J.K. Rowling, the seventh and final book in the best-selling series, has been scheduled for release at 12:01 a.m. on July 21, 2007, it was announced today by Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company.

In making the announcement, Lisa Holton, President of Scholastic Children's Books said, "We are thrilled to announce the publication date of the seventh installment in this remarkable series. We join J.K. Rowling's millions of readers -- young and old, veterans and newcomers -- in anticipating what lies ahead."

I've pre-ordered my copy from Amazon... so I just have to sit back and wait for it to come, right? 😕

The movies going to be released 8 days after the Order of Phoenix movie. Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I think they could have stretched out the Harry Potter fandom and not have both coming out so closely together.

JK finished wriitng Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, three weeks ago according to The Sun. According to the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, JK scribbled a message that said, "JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11th Jan 2007." According to another source, JK is very busy editing the seventh book which is set to be released in July.

I think it would have been good if it was on Harry's birthday. I was pretty sure it would be a summer release, but it's a bit too soon after the movie.
