Oh...Diva...I most definetly agree...I was just pointing out how hot and sexy Jack was in COTBP....I could post every screencap from DMC...but the one of Jack looking at Liz just before the kiss is absolutely the best one...it simply takes my breath away...because for all of POTC up until that moment....we have never seen Jack look so serious and so vunerable and so manly and so sexy and so much of a "i love you" look in his eyes...up till that point...he's been flirty and playing a game of sorts...a test of wills...he's always come across as happy-go-lucky, a guy who likes to "wave" at moments to be good as they go by.....so all of those moments from the second we see Jack in the Longboat til his meets his "death" int he mouth of the Kracken...
I am totally convinced that this is a new Jack or the Jack that has been hidden for so long and comes forth...for all of POTC through both movies...he's either being a prankster, a drunk, a joker, a trickster, a happy-go-lucky guy, a coward, an absolute mess at times....and then we see him in that longboat and he shows up and grabs the rifle and then the first time we hear him speak in that scene..."she's only a ship mate"...there is no smirk on his face, no joking, no lightheartedness....at this point Jack realizes what is happening and what has been happening to him...he's facing death...he knows what he thought was freedom..really isn't freedom after all...he's been chasing a life and a dream that doesn't really exist for him....and yes, he realizes he is a good man...he cares what happens to other people...and why...because of Elizabeth...who else has had conversation with Jack about this...no one, just him and Liz....do you guys realize that the only really heartfelt, revealing, serious conversations Jack has ever had throughout both movies has only been with LIZ....Liz is the only one who knows who Jack really is...she is the only one who has seen the Real Jack....on the deserted island, when he reveals his scars to her...then the vunerable side when she is burning the rum...and especially when he talks to her about What the Pearl means to him...and then....the Peas in the Pod scene....and the Curiosity scene....and that last scene aboard the Pearl...
