I just read the new Insider, and I am totally siked!
Check it out!!!!
Size Matters Not. Except on an IMAX® screen.
BIG MOVIE.
This holiday season, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones will be bigger than ever. Lucasfilm Ltd., The IMAX® Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox are bringing Episode II to IMAX theaters in the United States and Canada starting November 1, 2002 (with special sneak screenings October 31, in some areas). This is the first time a Star Wars movie has ever been projected in this enormous format.
This is not just a re-projection of the standard-sized 35-mm film print onto a larger screen; through the revolutionary IMAX DMR process, the movie has been re-mastered and the image enlarged to occupy up to eight stories of screen and the sound enhanced to include 12,000 watts of uncompressed sound.
What does this mean?
You can feel the blast of Jango Fett's asteroid-shredding seismic charges
You sense the dizzying vertigo of diving through the skylanes of traffic during the Coruscant speeder chase
You know what it's like to stare down the gullet of a gigantic acklay or pouncing nexu arena beast
You can't escape the wall of dust kicked up by a crashing Trade Federation starship
You'll witness the power of a 50-foot tall Yoda
BIG PARTY.
This is your last chance to see Attack of the Clones on the big screen with a big crowd! Across North America, fan groups are organizing activities to celebrate Episode II's theatrical return and IMAX format debut. Relive the thrill of opening night excitement with an audience of fellow fans. See the latest in fan-made costumes that are sure to be there. Get reacquainted with the fans you may have met back in May. Pick up a special IMAX-exclusive edition of Bantha Tracks, the new fan-focused publication from the Official Star Wars Fan Club while limited supplies last. And cheer on the big screen Jedi as they face off against the galaxy's toughest foes.
It starts playing at my theater next week!!!!!!!!
💃 💃 💃 💃 💃
Just saw it!
Awesome sound, huge picture, every movie should be seen in this format.
The sound vibrates through out your entire body, and it really felt like you were in the midst of all the action.
I went to a 12:30pm showing, completely packed!
Make sure you get your tickets in advance if your planning to see it.
Oh, they also gave out these somewhat kewl catalog keep sakes, I can scan it in if you'd like to see it. Although half of it is LucasArts advertisments 😉
Bottom line, if your lucky enough to live close to an IMAX theater, and you like StarWars, you have to see it in this format!
