Lastfm

Anyone have it?

I did for a few days, then I realized there's about as much a point to it as there is to the "Last song.." thread here at KMC. Basically letting everyone else know what you're listening to? I participate in the thread for the benefit of others, thinking they might appreciate my tastes. Otherwise, LastFM doesn't really serve a purpose unless you put their link in your sig in a forum, because that's the service's gimmick..a little box that shows what you're listening to.

I have it, I enjoy keeping track of what I listen. I enjoy the weekly top artists mostly especially when you can see what place they were before.

Not my favourite tool in the Internet, but pretty cool and I assume I didn't check out all the possibilities it has, yet.

Is it like iLike where you can check out what your friends are listening to, and it refers you to bands you might like?

Pretty much.

I'm a hypocrite. I signed up, again, yesterday. It's actually pretty useful for discovering new bands.

I just use it for listening to the radios they have and finding new bands. Not bothered about what people are listening to or tagging what I like.

I don't use it, but I also don't keep or listen to music on my PC (it's stored on my laptop and my iPod), so I really kind of can't.

I play music through my iPod on my computer. Through iTunes.

I don't have the harddrive space to keep my music on my PC, and my laptop is screwed up. I have a speaker set for my iPod, I just use that.

More convenient anyway as iTunes likes to cause other programs to crash.

My PC doesn't have any of my music on... I play music through my iPod as if it were an external hard-drive.

i have a lastfm account...

i like seeing what i actually listen to 😛

and free downloads every so often from new bands...thats pretty cool/handy

I'm starting to like LastFM as a music resource, overall. MySpace always features the same bands, and they allow bands to "catagorize" themselves inccorectly. For example, both Jason Mraz and Yung Joc were in "Hardcore", with Lily Allen and Regina Spektor under "Punk".

..and I like seeing what I, and others, listen to.

i liek seeing what other people listen to aswell

im nosey like that 😛
