What?

Have you offically lost your mind?

I thought you couldn't tell fact with stuff like this AC?

...you're a confused little one.

He's not saying that it is fact that they are great (though it is), it is just fact that they invented a new genre and that Tom Morello ([edit]The guitar player of Rage Against the Machine...I am sure you knew that) revolutionized guitar playing....

How about we let AC say what "he's saying"...

He responded to my disagreeing that "Rage MADE a genre and reinvent it with each album."

...he went on to say it's a FACT that happened.

Pretty insane if you ask me.

...and he didn't actually say anything about Tom Morello and all that.

I agree with everything you've said in your post (apart from admitting it's actual fact), but I don't agree with the quote I have above...they're very different actually.

W-which is what I just said?

Nope actually, it's not what you just said...maybe what you meant..

...which would be quite silly.

Same ****ing thing.

My advice to everyone posting in this and other threads is to just quit replying to this fool. Its safe to say hes just interested in baiting us for reactios, as opposed to actually trying to have any sort of reasonable discussion.

This is tough...

"reinvent it with each album" and "invented a new genre" are completely different things man. What are you joking?

I agree with your quote (although again...saying it's a fact is just silly), but I don't agree with the first one...hence the "relevancy" bit.

Who the hell are you?

And what the hell do you know of what's going on?

If you've read the past page or so of posts you'd see that I'm right on top of things actually you "fool".

...and that I'm having a discussion with someone who isn't being a total freak like the rest of these goofballs.

Okay, lets see:

"it is just fact that they invented a new genre"

"Rage MADE a genre"

Same..

Anyways, they also evolved from album to album, so the second part is pretty much true as well

Oh get serious dude.

What, becasue I pointed out where you're wrong you're now omitting the relevant quote in question..."reinvent it with each album"

And if you've been paying attention you would know there's a difference between "evolving" and what I'm talking about with being relevant.

Either you're playing dumb, or you haven't been reading the bulk of this discussion.

I said it's a fact rage invented/made a new genre, which it is. Ignoring it is to ignore fact, which you have a habit of doing.

Again, I disagree.

With which part? That they invented a new genre? Then, pray tell, who came before them?

They invented a new genre.

They were musically relevant with each album, including Renegades.

AC. There you go again you little worm...

You quoted me disagreeing with this quote...

"Contribution? Rage MADE a genre and reinvent it with each album."

...and you said it's a FACT they've done that.

Man, you're pathetic!

Honestly!

If you MEANT something different like... "I said it's a fact rage invented/made a new genre" then you should've said exactly that.

In the context of a band maintaining relevancy...which is what we were talking about...the 2 quotes are totally different.

Again...you won't admit you're wrong...it's clear to everybody but the biggest child on these boards.

...and YOU saying it's FACT is just insane.

Ok then...let's see this fact AC...

I think I already stated very clearly of what I think Rage's contribution was...from that, you can very easliy figure out what I disagreed with from the quote.

From your posts, I see you believe Rage contributed and doesn't have the ability anymore; correct?

Yes, and this post says it all quite clearly.

I fully agree Rage evolved. But evolution is different (I'll get to that in a sec).

I would even go as far as to say that their second album offered something more musically innovative and relevant than their first. They remained relevant for both those albums...but after that, although they evolved, I wouldn't say they necessarily offered anything fresh or significant to the world of music. I think they had reached their apex.

As far as them continuing to simply evolve, well, The Strokes are continuously evolving, but...

I don't see evolution as being the same as remaining relevant.

-And then you said

"But, like you've said before, relevance is modern themes and originality/freshness/etc. Rage brings that with each album."

- And then I said...

"I just disagree

For one, I don't think so. It stopped at 2 (and to be precise, I'm not gonna refer to what you said... "originality/freshness/etc..." I'm talking about a significant contribution to the art of music).

And second, they "brought it"....they don't "bring" anything anymore...and I think the reason they broke up might tell a lot about that...(Apart from the obvious!! roll eyes (sarcastic) )"

Ok then...let's see this fact AC...

A) Everyone here has pretty much held the opinion that you are the one that needs to get out.

B) Look at all the music that came before Rage, then look at the music that came after Rage and tell me it's not a fact that they invented that genre. It didn't exist before them.

C) I quoted the part I needed to quote and said what was needed to say.

-AC

I see. It seems we are going on two different definitions of relevancy. What is yours then?
