I thought the assumption was that prep time ws counted by an out side observer.

just cause savage is immortal dont make him the automatic winner if that was so he'd be the number one villian in DCU he's one of them but not above luthor, joker pawns luthor alot so he'd probably give savage a hell of a fight.

Savage is one of the few people Lex Luthor fears and doesn't want to cross. And Joker would indeed give him a good match, but Savage is much better at prep, and yet again, the immortality thing makes a death match into a one sided battle.
