here’s a little info on him:

Gaspard Ulliel was born on November 25, 1984, is a French actor and former male fashion model.

He was born in the Parisian suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt to stylist parents. He attended the University of Saint-Denis, where he studied cinema. He began acting while he was still at school, appearing in 'Une Femme En Blanc', a film for French television. Since then, he has starred in a number of television productions, including La Bascule, Juliette, Julien L'apprenti and Le Refuge.

His first film was Alias, in 1999. Since then, he has become increasingly popular and has been nominated for a César Award (Best Young Male) in 2003 for Embrassez qui vous voudrez and won in 2004 for his role in Les Égarés.

He has previously performed at the Cours Florent, where he was discovered by Les Égarés director André Techiné. His role as Manech opposite Audrey Tautou in Un long dimanche de fiançailles (2004) brought him to stardom. He has been nominated thrice for Most Promising Male Newcomer at the César Awards (the equivalent of the Oscars in France) in 2003, 2004 and 2005; he won the last one. Ulliel's lead roles include Dernier jour, Le (2004), Jacquou le croquant (2007) and Hannibal Rising (2007), his first major English-language film.

Yeah he was great as Hannibal Lecter, and to think he hesitated at taking the part crazy he was scared people would think what’s that French guy doing playing Hannibal en that they would compare him too much to Anthony Hopkins
But he did great! He studied Hopkins ‘s performance and took bits and peaces from it and mixed it with his own recipe ✅ so the Hannibal you see in Hannibal rising comes off real and true to the story!

To anyone who needs to see the movie do so its great ✅

Jacquou le Croquant tells the story of a young farmboy called Jacquou (Léo Legrand as a child, Ulliel as an adolescent) whose simple but satisfying life with his parents (Marie-Josée Croze, Albert Dupontel) in the 1815 Périgord region is disrupted by the evil Count de Nansac (Jocelyn Quivrin), whose actions leave him an orphan. Vowing to take revenge, and taken under his wing by the local parish priest Bonal (Olivier Gourmet), he will finally channel his feelings of vengeance towards de Nansac into an uprising against the pitiful treatment of the local peasantry (the "croquants"😉 by the Count.
