Meh, it just looks like WC was maybe a bit faster and more agile than Red when he got into that position. You can see that by the time Red headbutts him he's already pried Child's arm away from his neck (which he would have to for an effective headbutt) and he's got a smile on his face, which tells me he wasn't all that concerned with Wildchild's performance.

Red headbutted him off. You can even see the head movement lines, and who got lucky?
Pretty sure it was Wild Child who got lucky... sorry but there's alot in those two pages that's suspect.
For some reason Red can't keep pace with Wild Child's speed? Okay, but that's kinda inconsistent given Red's feats... And we saw Logan match WC on a RunvsDraw back in Loebs arc so he can't be THAT much faster can he? but okay..
For some reason Red can't just manhandle WC strength wise? Or use his tenticals to do it, or constrict him or stab him etc? Okay... but that's really suspicious looking when you've got Red manhandling people like Colossus around.
For some reason Red doesn't appear to be using his death factor/life drain, or pheromones against WC during or before the fight? Okay.. but again that's pretty damned suspicious looking when there's usually a reference to it in his fights.
I mean I GUESS we could chalk it up to Wild Child having been given some serious upgrades that were never mentioned or displayed in full and that we'll never know.. but barring that possibility, it just looked like a bunch of PIS at play. 😬
"As for the fate of other fan favorite characters, Cebulski confirmed plans to bring back popular X-Men villain Omega Red while assuring another fan that there are "big plans for the X-Men in 2012 and 'X-Factor' is going to play a big role." He later added, "The end of this year and next year are going to be big" in terms of the X-Men.
Just a random find (and this thread hasn't been bumped in a looooong while).
