In 1964, WED enterprises now Walt Disney imagineering--debuted four attractions at New York World's fair, with technology (fully-animated human audio-animatronics, figures and ride system of slow moving boats) that would take Disneyland pirate attraction in a new direction.
In 1966, New Orleans square opened guest, but its signature attraction was not yet complete. Against the wishes of company bookkeepers, Walt Disney asserted that his guest would not see the show until it was perfect. before he passed away that year, Walt personally approved a mock-up of the first completed scene (the Auction) and imagineers began to install the show--One that would go on top delight millions of guest at Disneyland park and serve as inspiration for one most successful film franchise in history.
