Bass Player discussion

My favourite bass player is Jack Bruce of Cream. Love the fretless bass. Wooten is the best I've seen and Les Claypool is cool too. I like Harris too because he is one of the few bass players to write his band's songs.

My favorite would definitely be Rob Wright of NoMeansNo, the guys a ****ing god.

i play bass and guitar....id have to say fieldy from korn is good and lars frederikson from rancid

korn? you must be kidding...

Here's some pics of me jammin out on my bass.

Awesome, my band covered Burning For You too. Great bass line in it, sadly our bass player quit before the show. We probably shouldn't have done that song without a bass.

How do you people know so many bassists? I know about 4 at a push and none of them are particularly brilliant. Having said that, despite not liking Iron Maiden, Steve Harris gets my vote.

From having an interest in music?

I dont play bass, but Cliff Burton and Les Claypool tear it up!

I know, it turned out lame 馃檨 Oh, well, our Rainbow in the Dark cover was ultimate.

I have an interest in music, I just don't have a huge interest in musicians.

Billy Sheehan is amazing on bass. His finger tapping is unbelivable.

I consider John Mayung being one of the best rock bassists, but I don't have very many rock bassists to pick from since I mostly listen to Jazz.

les claypool without a doubt.

other mentionalbles (at least those whom i admire), p-nut from 311, flea from red hot chilie peppers, victor wooten, and ryan martinie from mudvayne.

Les Claypool...yet Wooten is a "mentionable"? There are many bassists better than Claypool, technically. None better than Wooten.

Wooten aside I stick by Geddy Lee. Although Tony Levin, Chris Squire, and John Entwistle should be mentioned as well.

Entwhistle is one of my favourites.
