The irony is astounding.

It's canon that Iron Man can affect Thanos (and put him on his knees), that Wolveirne can stab Thanos, that Thor can KO Thanos, that Thor can beat down Thanos, that Masterson can stagger Thanos with a punch, that Cyclops can blindside Thanos, that Vision can make Thanos have to block his attack, that Spider-Man can almost knock Thanos over with a kick, but one comic (Infinity Gauntlet #4, in which all of these feats came from), does not disregard, Thanos's history, just like one battle, does not disregard Darkseid's.

Also, he re powered the gauntlet up to full power when he fought the cosmic beings.
