Facebook more mature? Yeah alright, the whole giving people pizza or troll dolls as gifts....real mature. It used to be more elite when it was just colleges and universities and such, now anyone who wants one can have one, it's just a late comer myspace. And this security feature debate is garbage, why the **** would you get something like facebook if you want your private shit private? I would assume your friends already know your details so that they don't have to look at your facebook to find your birthday or whatever.
I hate facebook, and to a certain extent I hate myspace, but I prefer the latter because you can customize it and for the music of course.
Errr, well, how it was it still excluded a lot of people who DID go to a college but didn't have a college email address. Which is why I was only able to sign up recently.
And why wouldn't you want to keep private stuff private? Sure, if you're the kind of person who'll add every single person you see to your friend's list, it's a bit pointless, but if you restrict who you add to only those you actually know, then why wouldn't you want other people to not know private info?
And frankly, I rather like the fact that facebook doesn't allow customization for your pages. Too many idiots on myspace don't know what they're doing and create pages that crash computers.
Frankly, I don't like either, but they both serve their purposes; one of my friends I grew up with but haven't seen for a good 6 years found my myspace, and facebook's the only real way I'm able to keep in touch with some of my friends who are away at school.
I've got a Facebook account. I've had one since before they started letting anyone join, back when it was Colleges and Universities only, when you had to have a valid student ID number to get an account.
Now I get friend requests from 13 year old girls named "tammy" who don't even live in the same country as I do...stupid facebook. I dont even have a myspace account though, Myspace is just dumb.

Well if you're concerned about it why put it on facebook on the first place? If it's meant to stay private why would you get a facebook and put it out there. I just don't see the point of having a facebook or myspace or friendster or whatever if you're not interested in meeting new people and sharing stuff about yourself in the first place shrug

Because the original purpose of those sites are to keep track of people you know already, that's why.
Frankly, I prefer livejournal over any of those sites...
Originally posted by Lanasrug That's all I use either for. I don't like meeting new people just over the internet (except for here, of course ermm)

I wish KMC were like Digg.com so I could digg this comment down for being completely wrong in every sense.

I wasn't being a douche bag, I just stated your opinion is completely false. Like Lana said, MySpace and Facebook were started for the sole purpose of keeping in touch with people you already know.
Look in the mirror next time you want to call some one names, you might see a b!tch looking back at you.
And FYI, I let my forum fail. I never put the time into it because I got bored with it.

Yes, you're right, completely right. Feel free to show me anyone's friends list on myspace that's only people they know intimately.
"MySpace is for everyone:
* Friends who want to talk online
* Single people who want to meet other Singles
* Matchmakers who want to connect their friends with other friends
* Families who want to keep in touch-map your Family Tree
* Business people and co-workers interested in networking
* Classmates and study partners
* Anyone looking for long lost friends!"
👆
Rather, next time just don't read any of my posts, put me on ignore, and save us the trouble of having to interact with one another, we'll all be the happier for it.
And that's not what the emails said, please. doped

*shows you Lana's, shows you my old one which I deleted, shows you a shit load of profiles made by anyone older than 15 years old and is not an attention whore who adds anyone who requests it*
Just because Lana and I don't physically know everyone on our lists doesn't mean shit, we befriended them before on KMC or other sites which don't require you to be on a persons friend list before you can even talk to them.
"MySpace is for everyone:
*AKA, they already know each other.
*AKA, not just random people to "friend", people they want to date.
*See above.
*Enough said.
*AKA, not just random friends, it's for business and the like.
*Enough said.
*Already knew them, looking for them again.
👆
Please, I'm not putting you on ignore simply because I argue with you. I don't even have my worst enemies on ignore. You're no more special than anyone else.
Oh, and that was a different forum...you were never invited to the latest incarnation. doped
