If you play more FPS on console you'll understand why we like Halo...
but after playing Quake III : Arena on dreamcast with a keyboard and mouse, everything changed, and I wound up changing my stance on the issue
the first Halo revived my love of console FPS.. something that had only existed when I played Goldeneye on N64...but Halo 2 was a big letdown for me... so I'm just standing on the sidelines to see if Halo 3 will suffer that same fate or yet again give me a console FPS experience that I've grown to love
reasons i don't like halo is because their guns, sounds, and controls.
1)guns : autoaim = ewww....plus the gun selection...they all are the same to me, i mean, they all feel the same another words. it needs to be like quake3 arena, where all the guns actually DO feel totally different.
2.)sounds : the "beep beep" sound gets soooo annoying it makes me want to mute the TV. the explosions don't sound so devasting, and the guns sound pansy IMO...
3.)controls : The whole high ass jumping "low gravity" thing makes me mad cuz i like jumping and falling immediately so that you can actually dodge things easier. it takes little skill to actually hit someone due to auto-aim and slow jumpings of other players. how could u possible miss? as a fresh newb on that game, i actually hit 2nd place on the scoreboard, and thought "wow, i'm good" but in reality, the game just takes little skill. I need a challenge, like how GoW takes much skill to play, how CS takes skill...you know stuff like that.
Basicly i hate all except the appearance...the appearance is unique, and is very interesting. i mean a giant halo for a planet? i love it!

😂 You know every halo fan I've ever met denies the existence of auto aim ... its really strange

yeah thats the slow part I was talking about... and damn..when you got the jumper pad + the wacky gravity? ugh.. I swear sometimes I could go grab a soda before I land.. but by then I've already been noobed with a beam rifle or something
the running is slow too, which I find odd since he's supposed to be a cyborg to a degree
Ah, the old Halo debate, always fun.
Halo is a very good game, no denying that. But boy is it overrated.
As far as Auto aim goes, you kinda need it in that game because the movement is so fast, and the control stick turning can only go so fast. It would be really difficult to keep aim on someone if there wasn't a bit help.

guys, we need to have a get together tomorrow or sunday. it'll be my last weekend on Xbox Live. The only games I'm thinking are GoW or Q: IV
sounds like fun.. but I only have the Q:IV demo at the moment 🥷
(I think that does multiplayer, but on limited stages... I dunno if they only do 'Demo to Demo' multiplay or if they let ya play with just anyone)
idk, but i have some small feeling in me that GoW will be voted higher than Q : IV. But I think we should make this where it's actually 4 vs 4, all clan members...and execution, that way we can talk to the other 4 clan members every round that someone dies, and that way no one is idle from everyone else. but this may be my last post tonight because I'm going to a friends house, and we're going to go to Ci'Ci's Pizza and see the movie 28 Weeks Later...w00t....lol we'll see what happens tomorrow
I dislike Halo because I dislike games that consist of sneaking up on opponents, then spending years strafing until someone dies or runs out of ammo.
It's the Street Fighter of FPS. The only "Skill" you can acquire by playing it for ages is how to be cheaper than everyone else, hence why all the best players exploit glitches.

the only problem with comparing it to street fighter is that street fighter hasn't had the opportunity of being patched until having had internet multiplayer compatibility
whereas, with halo 2, the game has had every opportunity to be patched
and still prefers to be a bugged mess
most of the things you are referring to as cheap with street fighter are probably some of the tiny changed rules (such as timestop ignoring an attack that is about to hit you, or being able to pass through a fireball with a hurricane kick, etc)
as for the get-together.. sure.. but I have karate on monday, wednesday, and friday nights o.o I probably wont go this monday though cuz I'm lazy
