I'd just like to add that I think gender reassignment surgury is freaking weird, but not a valid reason to deny alimony.

And she would be wrong since she had been a woman.

Had she been a man then there would have been no need for surgery in the first place. She got the surgery because she was a woman and WANTED to be a man.

My take is that the money could be put for better things....like retirement...home morgage...school....kids....but that's just me. It's just an issue of cosmetics which I've always consider a lesser priority.
