She is also an empath who draws power from the earth. Using that power to increase her size/mass/durability/flight/ and energy (concussive blasts) projection.
She can also be affected by "Fowl moods" of the earth. hampering her abiltiy to syphon power.
Storm's ability is psyonic (only limited by her will and strength). The earth's weather patterns/ Ocean currents/ and electomagnetic feilds are all connected to her emotions. Creating said poisonous fog or acid rain would give her a distinct advantage.
