I think so far, he's the best worker, and has the most charisma. Plus:Dude's crazy.
My thoughts on extreme rules:
Extremely happy to see Jericho beat Fandango. Saw the codebreaker coming, but Jericho getting the pin was not something I thought I'd see, with how Jericho likes to put people over. Great way to start the night.
Ambrose Vs Kingston was a great match. Right from the start I believed Ambrose was going to win (as I'm sure most people did), but this match was yet more evidence that Ambrose is pure class. The guy's gonna be a main eventer by himself one day if he keeps this up.
Sheamus vs Henry was all right. Not a great match by any means, not pretty solid and showed both men's strength quite well.
Shield vs Hell No... The weakest match imo, only made any good because the 4 guys in the match were all pretty good workers. Was never expecting Hell No to win, though.
Orton Vs Big Show was honestly a match that I was expecting to be shit, and yet, it was actually good. Both men have a great account of themselves, and Orton actually seemed up for it. When Orton was teeing him up for the RKO, I never expected him to hit it, so when he did I was surprised, but not as surprised as I was when Show kicked out. Does the punt mean Orton is finally going heel, though? That advertisement was a possible hint too.
Ryback vs Cena - Not a great match to start, imo. Cena was his usual punching-bag self, but if there was one thing the match did well, it was to make Ryback look like an absolute monster. That AA through a table was fantastic though, and was the turning point as when they went outside the ring, the match picked up big time. That charge through the stage was insane, and was absolutely brutal. Never expected the match to end the way it did.
HHH Vs Lesnar - A well run, well booked match. It was supposed to be a brutal fight, and it was exactly that. Fair credit to Lesnar though, as he was able to keep going even with his knee in a horrible state (though I'm sure they exaggerated it). Heyman was excellent too; the guy makes matches more exciting just being at ringside. Not sure, but did they botch the sledgehammer spot? It looked sloppy. Either way, solid ending, even if I wanted Hunter to win.
All in all, one of the better PPVs I've watched in a while. There were no terrible matches, and I'm already excited to see Raw tonight.
Agreed mostly. I only paid attention to the undercard though.. had Orton/Show on in the background and marked for the punt. Turned it off entirely before the Cena match before checking back in to see the end of HHH/Lesnar.
Overall, easily a 7 PPV. Glad to see the Shield, Jericho, and Orton all pick up wins. I hope Orton turns heel and goes after the WWE title. That would free up Daniel Bryan to have some great matches with Ziggler for the WHC though the summer.
I have a feeling they're gonna push Sheamus his way. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Sheamus go up against Ryback instead.
I'd like to see Bryan back on the singles scene though, so anything they do with him is fine.
Apparently from what I heard, the Ryback charge at the end of the match wasn't planned to go so badly (though the "no contest" was intentional), and there's word that Cena might be injured now.
WCW wasn't shown in Ireland, so I missed it. I've been meaning to watch the older matches as soon as I get the chance.
Anyone see Triple H on RAW? As silly as this plot might be, Hunter sold it incredibly well. I actually believed something was wrong with him.
Word is that Big E isn't going to be on NXT anymore, due to him
Spoiler:Dude's graduated, and I think the roster is the better for it.
dropping the belt to Bo whatshisname.
I wish that WWE knew what to do with the Miz... 🙁
