Really? I haven't found it that hard to follow, and I'm no wrestling expert. What parts are you specifically having issue with?

Total Divas is good so far. It keeps me laughing. Damn, Eva Marie is such a *****. I mean sure, I'm sure a lot of it is worked, but I honestly think she's not that good an actress.
I wish James would retire and start a family.
I watched an interview with her after she was ousted from the WWE and before being signed to TNA. The woman sacrificed all for wrestling, most notably the WWE, and they slapped her in the face. She spoke about starting a family and moving away from wrestling.

I really have no issue with the name thing. I actually think it makes the story hit harder, tbh.
The money thing yeah, that's silly.
The contract was alluded to more than once as not being what Big Show thought it was, and they said IIRC that HHH can tear it up any time Show is considered to be not doing his job.

The statistics are nearly as bad for female wrestlers as they are for their male counterparts. If Luna and Sherri didn't have a family what legacy would they have beyond wrestling?
