DOLPH. ZIGGLER.

Now is the time to embrace what the crowd has been calling for.

Dolph calls out The Beast and HHH makes him go through the gauntlet to get to him. The crowd rallies behind him while he chases and he finally gets the belt at the end of Brock's contract.

He would be my pick, yes. I've been hoping for them to give him a shot for a while now, and he's been floundering ever since he got injured. Thankfully, he seems to be on the up again.

Ziggler, imo, can be the next big face in the company. He can be the HBK to Bryan's Bret and Ambrose's Austin. He was a successful amateur wrestler. He's shown what he can do in promos. He's incredibly safe, with strong psychology and wonderful ring presence.

They just need to let him run with it.

And I still think it should be him, Bryan or Ambrose to beat Lesnar. I don't think it should be a power wrestler.

So, is current WWE as good as it's previous generations?

The roster, when fully fit, is arguably just as good as any in history.

Ziggler has all the potential in the world.
So does Ambrose.
Hopefully Bryan comes back healthy. Stone Cold had to change his entire style after neck surgery, but he wrestled for years afterwards.
I cant see Bryan wanting to do those missile drop kicks off the top rope or suicide drop kicks into the corner where he lands in the back of his head...

Bryan mostly collapsed to the side on his corner dropkick, i wouldn't expect his suicide dives or much top rope stuff. It does appear Ambrose will use the top robe drop kick. WWE should reban the flying headbutt.

Reban it? Who's doing it?

Nowhere close!

There is a lot of revisionist history that takes place in wrestling but when I look at the current WWE, I really see the brilliance of Russo's attitude era.

There isn't a single wrestler charismatic enough in the WWE to make it must see for even the non-fan. This is a result of them overusing Cena and not building anyone else correctly.

The cards are not balanced as attention is only devoted to a handful of wrestlers. Looking on back on Russo's booking every match counted. You had everyone from the Godfather, Stasiak, The Brood etc. who held the interest of fans.

Can someone name ANY compelling storylines outside of the Heavyweight title?

As much as Vince and Russo made the stories better in the Attitude era, and they did, i'd argue that the actual wrestling talent on the roster is as good as it would be in any era.

The actual wrestling talent in terms of technique in skill is arguably the best right now, imo.

A lot of the guys are just handicapped by having everything so ****ing scripted.

Ambrose/Rollins, Miz/Ziggler/Mizdow, imo.

I can agree with that.
There's a lot of great (mis/under used) young talent on the roster.

Right now if WWE wanted, they could put on some of the greatest matches ever but because they have no real competition they don't.

Bryan vs Kenta vs Neville.

Devitt & Cesaro vs Zayn & Steen

Ziggler vs Wyatt

Ascension vs Harper & Rowan

Orton vs Ambrose

Sheamus vs Rollins

You nailed it. Lack of competition in this case has made WWE complacent.

Cesaro just beat a mf'er with another mf'er

Smackdown review

Miz vs Ambrose was kinda meh and Miz took the finish hella weak
The battle royal wasn't bad but was missing stars, could have used Nxt guys
Tag title match was kinda disappointing
Summer still looks good, match was weak
Ziggy vs Cesaro was good but finish was dumb. Why make the heel sympathetic?
Show vs Rusev was bad and the finish was horrible in execution and idea.
On a side not Lana looked sexy.

2/10 1 point for Summer 1 for Lana

I enjoyed the show more than usual.

Ambrose/Miz was good, but Miz cant sell dirty deeds at all.
Battle Royal ending was cool, but Cesaro's becoming the mid card Orton. Let someone else have a shot, guy.
Interestingly, the whole Nation if Domination that never happened, minus Henry, was in the ring, with matching colors to boot.
Tag match was good, the Dusts were talked upas being sneaky and each having multiple tag runs with other partners.
Usos looked strong even in losing.
Divas match was awful. Eddie's daughter can NOT wrestle. Top heavy and awkward as Khali.
The actual ZiC match was all Cesaro with an ending that'll guarantee a rematch dammit.
Rusev/Show was okay. First time i recall Rusev going for a pin. Bad ending on Rusev's part, but i loved the Ko.

I don't mind Rusev losing but i get the feeling they will undercut Rusev to build Show then he will get chumped by Lesnar... its a waste of a storyline, I'd see show beat a heel Henry because at least thats self contained and then you keep building Rusev up for a Sheamus match.

WWE also really really needs to realize the Russia vs America angle alienates the rest of their "Universe" let Rusev beat other nationalitys on his way to add a little depth to his character.

If Ryback is due to return soon they could have take dwon Henry and Show for an easy build up.

Ryback needs a fued where he has a good worker with him like Orton. Monster vs Monster matches suck 99% of the time.

I was thinking about Ryback earlier.
If WWE is going to be short on faces, he could step in.
I'd actually like to see Rusev take a run at lesnar. He wouldnt win, but i'd enjoy seeing them go at it.

I've recently been thinking of ways WWE could help alot of talent avoid injuries because to be frank, WWE is hurting right now; pun intended

I want to try a Mock brand extension with the Divas & Us title on Raw and the IC & Tag champs on raw. Now honestly you would have to assume everyone comes back from injury & use Nxt stars to fill the full roster. Also assume HHH & the authority run both shows.

I see Cena being a Raw "guy" so i guess I'll represent an edgier Smackdown with Bray Wyatt as the "Smackdown guy". Who else seems like a Raw or Smackdown guy?

Raw
divas
Cena
Sheamus

Smackdown
Wyatt Family
Dust bros
Ziggler

This is harder than it seems.
Every time i try i wind up lopsided in one way or another....🙁
