I kinda think a lot of things went through his head when he struck obi wan down i think he would of been very confused maybe even felt bad about it i think from the momment his lightsaber killed touched obi wan he like had a flashback of when they first met to becoming his apprentice fighting on Mustafar all in i second. I must admit though i cant explain why he stood on his robe

Vader - OH SHIT!

Vader see's Obi-Wan raise his light saber up in front of him. He thinks to himself "Old fool, now's my chance."

Vader strikes down Obi-Wan.

Vader thinks to himself, "Where the hell did he go?"

Vader steps on the robes to check to see if anything is still there, He then hears Luke yell. He think's to himself, "F*ck it, I will worry about Obi-Wan later"

He begins walking towards Luke as the blast doors close.

I've always thought that whole disappearing thing was a slap in the face to Vader. He seemed quite content that Kenobi was gone.

Yea I would say that but maybe he did nto believe it after no body showed up.jm
