I just argued with Tim about this very subject. He takes your same position (I'm sorry I have to break it to you but yeah). Go re-read Genesis 18.

Was that a joke?

Let me explain why I asked this question. The implication god is not vengeful strikes me as contradictory to many of his motives and actions as laid out in the bible; the infallible word of god. But, to say that he simply sits back and allows things to happen implies that god is apathetic. And if god is apathetic, then he requires neither worship nor consideration.

go re read every section of the bible where someone disobeys god. or look at the story of passover.

If I acknowledge an apathetic being, does he care?

A true God would not need or want acknowledge or worship.

On what authority to you base this statement?

I THINK I know what he meant...but I am curious myself.

Why would a "perfect" or "true" god create a universe without a purpose?

I think authority was the wrong choice of words.

Make that...on what authority DO you base this statement? 😮

ok simple, a perfect being doesnt want need or have any emotion. it is PERFECT. having love for something or someone is a weakness and therefore and imperfection. the need for worship or acknoledgement is an imperfection. get used to it

Point taken. But when Christ speaks of not abandoning "lost sheep", do you think he might not be including the people who died innocently and without cause? Or maybe the ones who never heard a good thing about his gospel for their entire lives?

I apologize young man...but you horribly fail with that post.

Those are YOUR definitions of perfection. I do believe that perfection, especially when it comes to looks or personality, is in the eye of the beholder.

You failed so horribly with that post that you should be round house kicked in the face by Go...I mean Chuck Norris. 😉

I don't even remember whether you converted me to Norrisism or Buddhism.
