Well obviously it would make no sense to you because you aren't jewish. I came here to try and give an explanation of what is really meant when the Torah says "man is created in gods image" due to the misconceptions being thrown around about that quote. This has nothing to do with your conception of the external reality, it is justified within the realm of assuming the torah is revealed.

It is odd you were willing to roll with the presupposition that god is real but could not follow the notion of the Torah's reality. I can't justify that quote to you logically; it only makes sense in the context of judaism and related religions.

BTW I don't believe that the god of the bible (YHWH) is real at all.

Fine by me. In Judaism it doesn't matter what your belief is if you aren't Jewish. I'm not here to convert anybody, I only wanted to clean up the nonsense explanations about man/god's image. I don't do proselytizing usually because Judaism only deals with Jews.

That's why i'm never going to be forcing my beliefs on others. Everything I say is strictly from an in-judaism perspective.

But this thread was created by a fundamentalist Christian to support his ideas of the "truth".

To disagree with, and tell people how you believe is not proselytizing. I for one will appreciate a new perspective, but please do not be offended when I disagree with you, and tell you why. This is a debate forum, after all.

Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the life. This means that if you ask Him to save you from your sins and be Lord over your life He will resurrect you in the last day.

It's semantics.

In the technical sense I go to church every sunday and hence I am a member. But really there is no such thing. Born again followers of Jesus Christ who have confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives are the church. We are the church. The church is the people but many think that it is the building that the church meets in.

No, just the one's who have their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation from sin and not in some system, or the clergy, or religious objects, etc.

Well, that doesn't narrow it down much.

So it really doesn't matter what you do or believe then. All you have to do is say the magic words, and you will be one of the saints in the kingdom of heaven. Sense you don't get to heaven through works, then get saved and be as evil as you like. Just make sure you always ask for forgiveness.

Is that about right?
