I ordered my soundtrack, like a true obsessive fan, about a month ago from Depp Discount DVD (ha ha ha- I'll leave that typo- should read "DEEP Discount DVD) and it was delivered, as promised, on Friday. Now I can't stop listening to it. The music is haunting. It makes me shiver. The last three tracks are so freaking awesome I can barely stand it. My husband and younger sister (she lives with us) think I'm a total nerd because I have listened to this CD probably 20 times since Friday. I listened to it three times before I saw the movie, and honestly- I kinda knew at one point what was going to happen due to the "softness" of the music. I have to see the movie again, and then I can listen to the CD and relive what is happening in the film.
I always get teary eyed at track 11 on DMC because I know when Jack is facing the Kracken. Now, this soundtrack REALLY makes me want to cry. It is just so sweeping and emotional. Strong, energetic- I love it! The battle scene music is incredible. I really do cherish all three soundtracks. I think it is some of the best music I have ever heard.

Lyrics by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio
Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho,
thieves and beggars,
never shall we die.
The king and his men
stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her Bones.
The seas be ours
and by the powers
where we will well roam.
Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.
Some men have died
and some are alive
and others sail on the sea
– with the keys to the cage…
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler's Green!
The bell has been raised
from it's watery grave…
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
We are a call to all,
pay head the squall
and turn your sail toward home!
Yo, ho, haul together,
hoist the Colors high…
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
never say we die.
