Face to Face

I'm walking out of the student union. I've just been at a 2 hour meeting, one hour longer than expected. I'm rather pissed becuase I need to get home to write a 5 page paper that is due tomorrow morning.

Suddenly, I see a guy with a black leather jacket...patches all over it, none which I can really read...but there is one that stands out.

I don't know if any of you guys know that symbol, but I sure as hell do. Kind of chuckling to my self and desiring one of my own I walk out the door and almost run into Jango Fett.

I am so f*cking confused. I look around, and there are stormtroopers all gaurding the front door to the union.

I'm like, "have I f*ckingdied and gone to heaven?"

Now, if I wouldn't have been so goddamn busy this week, I would have known that Heart of an Empire was selected by the Wisconsin Film Festival and was showing here tonight.

My camera phone has no flash and its 8pm, so I run home (half a mile after recently finishing a Chipotle burrito only an hour ago) grab my roomate and tell him to stop watching hockey and drive my ass back to the Union with my camera.

So, this was probably one of the coolest things ever. It was a great juxtaposition of worlds, coming right out of my daily life and stright into SWland. I'm crushed because instead of actually going to go see this movie, which I felt bad after taking picutres with all the guys telling I had to go, I'm back home writing a paper. My fault I guess, but this whole experience ****ing awesome. I talked to Jango and one of the stormies for a while, I didn't try speaking mandolorian and coming across as a total nerd. Oh...and the costumes were awesome, most of the guys had mikes integrated into the helmets too.

And also...I want some damn armor, but I'm going to start with some patches for my jacket.

Sweet. Sounds far out...although I probably woulda just watched the hockey game 😉. It's a Canadian thang.

I must admit the funniest part to me was Jango telling me to "get on your knees."

Closest thing I can relate to was when I was working at a supermarket and they had a life-size Yoda for promotion from Lay's/Pepsi...only 250 made. I drooled over the display every day I worked.

You got entered with a store discount card, and some old lady won it and didn't even know what it was, so she gave it back to the store. I had shown previous interest in case the winner didn't wanna claim it for whatever reason...and so the store let me buy it off them.

My friend called every other one of our stores in the city to see if the winners from each store had claimed those Yoda's...and of course they had. I was convinced...the force made it possible (or something else). 😉

😛 Exactly how I felt. I honestly would have had the same initial reaciton if an Angel came up to me.

But the best part was, I wasn't praying 🙂

There was a scout trooper who was at elast 6'4"...I was like...aren't you a little tall to be a stormtrooper? 😂

Jango is shorther than I am , and I'm 5'9"..and that was with his bucket on.

It was really funny seeing all the people come out of the theater into a mass of stormies bearing E-11s. Some great wierd looks 😂
