Re: What constitutes athiesm for God?

If athiesm is the absence of believing in deities, and God is the one and only God, is he then an athiest?
Nope, because he believes in himself. Or as he puts it --
Isaiah 45:5,23
I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God.
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Besides, if he stated there is no God, he'd be lying...which is something that God doesn't do..😉

Serious question.
Have you ever read Fall of Hyperion? It has an interesting take on the whole Abraham thing.

No, god believes in other gods. Remember the ten commandments?I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, you shall have no other gods before me.
Shaky, do you take the word "gods" in this scentence as in physical gods or tanglible things...such as drugs, material goods, money...and so on?
I think he is not only referring to other "gods" as in physical as well as anything and everything that you focus on and love more than Him. Anything you depend on more than Him....what sayeth you about that?

However, all gods, including the god of the bible, are products of the imagination. So, when the imaginary god of Moses said do not have other gods before me, this imaginary god was referring to other imaginary gods.

Somewhere deeeeep within you I know you don't believe there is no God. Dive deep and I'm sure it's there.
How did we get here Shaky? The complex physical being of a human being...how did that come about? Sex makes babies but who designed us that way? To make a home in the belly for a growing baby that can come out and survive outside the womb?
Go waaaaay back and think hard about the creation of such a complex being. It amazes me everytime I think about it. No big bang can do that. Nope. Only the Creator. 🙂

I do believe in God, but the god of the bible is just fiction.
How did we get here? My mother gave birth to me. How did we get here? We have always been here. The universe is alive, and life always appears anywhere the it can.
I don't believe in a creation because I believe that the universe has always been and always will be. The big bang was just a part of a much bigger cycle, like a light flashing in the darkness. The energy of life cannot be destroyed or created; only the body is destroyed.

You believe in what God? If you believe in God...where do you think he is?
