the crybaby bit's something i've been going on about for the past few days. i could come up with a "grown man's" insult, and bleep myself with asterisks, or i could make a witty comment that coincides with a recurring theme i've been bringing up for days. that sounds more like intelligent comedy to me. but what would i know, apparently i'm only smart enough to know i'm an idiot; a paradox in itself.
i understand the suspension of disbelief just fine, SC. but, as i said, it cuts both ways. and when there's physical evidence from the scene that clearly nullifies a claim made through patchwork logic by a fan, that's when it cuts away from this hysteria that's been worked up. just because someone is "buried under a building" doesn't mean that the entire weight of the structure is pressing down on the fractionally small area they occupy. just because there are miles of rocks above them doesn't mean the entire weight as mentioned on the cover is pressing down specifically on the area hulk occupies. that's the commonest of sense, as it comes from an innate understanding of the physical world that we develop as children!
i didn't say the hulk wasn't supporting a great amount of weight. i didn't say it doesn't deserve to be a feat. i said that what he's doing is not supporting one-hundred and fifty billion tons, due to the very nature of how the scene is set up. just because fans whip up a hysteria by mixing a few scenes together to create, again, some patchwork logic doesn't mean it's canon. especially when the scene outright contradicts years of continuity in that interpretation, but in another equally valid interpretation it does not.
i really didn't want to spread this argument to this thread, so that's all i'll say on the matter. reply with whatever four letter words you'd like, strength, i'm done.
