I mean seriously they should have kept it a little more believable..
just the other day I saw articuno spit water, and then use icebeam to freeze it, and it would break and create shards that slowed down charizard.. -_-... lamez0r

To answer your question. The game follows the same formula as all the previous Pokemon games and is enjoyable all the same. Nothing extremely new, but the formula still works.

what I mean is why not have the game mimic the cartoon?... as opposed to making the game look like a dumbed down version of the cartoon
like have your pets with you in real time and order them to do moves, or take control of them... rather than the turn based approach
you can even have each pet control differently so its harder to avoid attacks for some than it is for others.. the turn based gameplay limits the series IMO
