kalibak had an upgrade. he's as strong as superman, darksied, etc. and kalibak has his own psy version of the oe. orion also didn't have a mother box or the af in that fight. firestorm is extremely powerful. he could beat most any top tiers at some point. maybe not for majority, but he can almost always get some wins.

Arguable. FS was throwing fisticuffs with the amped Kalibak [the one who annihilated Orion], that very same issue.

But what does brute strength really matter when you're one of the most versatile characters in comics? And it was versatility which allowed FS to own Orion like a child. 🙂

FS did, however, physically brawl with Kalibak for a short while, and faired much better than Orion. A testament to his strength/durability. 🙂

Most of the feats of the Magus are just an analog for what happens when Adam losses control and fights like a total bastard. Adam not being a nice guy can basically generate or tap into more power than Orion can ever dream off. See Adam pulling a quantum to basically tap a pocket universe...
