why is racial integration such an unquestionable "positive"/"good"?
the only types to profit out of it have been corporations. people generally retain the prejudices of the communities they were born into.
those that don't aren't likely to form new and lasting communities, since they will essentially be at odds with their own peoples' values and be alien to other peoples...
we all can get along, but we don't all need to inter-marry, having faith in each others gods or mouth pleasantries about each others foolish beliefs and garish tastes.

Not having segregated proms is hardly a mass multi-culturaal integration love/fest you know.
Very much the thing to concentrate here is desegregation, not integreation.
Before it was segregated and if you really need to be explained that such segreation causes social troubles and is morally questionable then you are living in the wrong era.
segregation is a natural habit, its risk averse.
you go and look at how people are living, I live in what is, more or less a ghetto. I am an ethnic minority citizen of the UK.
there's nothing wrong with being segregated, as long as you are not imposing upon others nor attempting to abrogate powers to you and your kind that are the preserve of the state (like some people wish to do with shariah laws and halakah/kashurite laws).
racial prejudice cannot and will not be conditioned out of humanity. it's an absurd idea and doesn't really address why we have such prejudices. a "racialist" can be a good and valued man and a lovey-dovey hippie can be a corrosive and cancerous creature too...

I'm originally from Georgia and there are no swamps 160 miles south of Atlanta. Dirt roads, farmlands, and abandoned gas stations, yes. This city is near Albany, which has had flooding problems in the past but in no way can be called swamplands. They have LAKES and PONDS, and you're adding in this fabricated swamp thing to make it seem like it's out of Huckleberry Finn. The swamps are located in the southeastern tip of Georgia...far away from this area. I'm surprised you didn't say Ashburn was home of the grand wizard of the KKK. That location is 200 miles northeast of Turner County.

Yet being racist is still wrong, so that's hardly a worthwhile point, Npo-one thinks that a racist is automatically bad in all ways, or that people that are good in some ways cannot br racists- or no-one sensible, anyway.
In the long term, there can't be anything LESS risk-averse than cultural segregation. It breeds mistrust, dislike and, all too often, violence.
If anyone really denies that desegregation has helped minorities in the States... well, frankly, that person is a fool.
