I'd say Strange, seeing what he has at his disposal: magic, telepathy and extreme cosmic energy.

Superman wins. Unless strange starts off with one of his strongest spells. I don't think he will, and will end up KOed.

Strange has autoshields that can take what Superman can dish out fast enough for him to pull some of his astral pwnage

in terms of absolute power, it seems Strange is leagues above Superman, but in terms of durability, physical might and speed, he should be far below.

Powerful enough to take attacks by Surfer and supernovas, at least

Strange has taken planet busting shots with his auto shields. And his reactions are very good. Supes is ****ed.

What's to keep Superman from breathing at him and collapsing his lungs?

Auto-shields are lame. GL and other characters have them too.
However, they are unreliable, as they are usually depicted without them rather than with.
Seems more like a concentrated effort to me.

If Strange got off a handful of spells, he could mess Superman up. But if he doesn't, then he's screwed.

Two vastly different characters here.
