He's not dead.

His body is perfectly healthy, his soul just hasn't found it's way back to his body (because it's stuck in purgotary) and he is therefore left a vegetable.

But anyway Wolverine said he thought he knew? He has no idea and wouldn't anyway. So WTF..

He doesn't get retries.

He lost, and his soul is sitting in purgatory - waiting for judgment, I guess.

Strange, however, went to help Logan recover his soul. If Strange weren't there, yeah, it'd be over for Logan.

He dies, his body comes back but unless he beats the Angel of Death he stays gone (his soul) but the body returns.

Strange is trying to get his soul back thats all.

He only beat him so many times because it depends on how much he wants to come back.

well, we KNOW FOR SURE Logan's soul will return. I just feel like this diminishes the importance of the spirit battle...since he still has outs even if he loses.

He saves people. It's what he does. He saved the friggin universe in Fantastic Four 550.

Captain America's body was dead, regardless of his spirit.

Logan's body is just chilling, empty.

Furthermore, he didn't save Captain America for the same reason Reed Richards doesn't cure cancer, or find a solution for AIDS.

Not cause he's a douche, but because it would devalue the things themselves.

It'd be a cop out in the case of Captain America's death, it would devalue the story. Just like Reed Richards putting out a cure for AIDS would be an insult to the people in real life that live with the syndrome, not to mention the fact that it'd distance the readers from the world. I mean, if every disease is cured, world hunger is cured, and Doc Strange disarms every single country in the world....

Well...it wouldn't be much like Earth, would it?

One reason why he couldn't save Cap and Marvell apart from the healing lol. Is because Wolverines soul can be saved like everyone elses. But they're bodies aren't healed unlike Wolverines who comes back perfect.

He could heal them know so meh 😂

problem is he could not retrieve his solo. capt soul pritty much went straight to heaven while Logan had a prolonged battle and then had to sit in limbo. Giving strength clearly enough time to go get his soul.

capt soul also is not able to leap back into his body like logans does

Why would having a long battle stop his soul going into heaven. Waiting in judgment he was, like everyone.

When asked where Wolverine's soul was - Strange responded "The same place everyone's goes after they die." (from memory, don't feel like getting it word for word).

Hence, Captain America's soul went to the exact same place. Doctor Strange could have easily restored Cap's body with a wave of his hand, and then dived into purgatory to help Cap out. There is nothing special about Logan in that respect.
