That is completely irrelevant, Corran. Yerssot is talking classifications, and French is classified as Romantic. It is more to do with how they work than where they come from. English is Germanic even though it has influences from just about every Western European language.

Corran, almost every language has some connections with another language.
Dutch is connected to German, and with the help of dialect it is also connected to French (although Dutch-Dutch and Flemish-Dutch may have their differences here)
