And im not saying they designed each character themselves, altho it is possible (see Falcoon), thats what usually artists in the teams are for. But unless there was a freelancer that worked up close to the creators in order to peg say Ryu for them to use, then Ryu was artistically rendered under the guidance of the concept of what the creators wanted.
So far i havent seen evidence of it. I have however of the creators (who also produced the game, among other things).
Hell mate, the problem here isent even if Ryo was a steal or not. Hes a good character AFAIAC either way. The problem is one guy making assumptions and claiming someone is wrong with less evidence.
If you think another way and want to debate it, at least bring proof on your own side to counter it.

You can't prove a negative, that's impossible. I cannot prove that he is not the designer of Ryu, if there is no proof he created said character in the first place. The way debates work is if you make a claim you offer proof to back it up, if you cannot then it's automatically not true.
