of course I know who guts is, a guy who started as a wimp in a comic book series that later turned into a crappy animated series which was never finished where this guy freaks out every time things don't go his way.
ok, first of all, saying Kratos does not have all of his ups, which is completely retarded, but just saying he doesn't, he is still 1000 times stronger then Guts. Even if Kratos does not get the chance to rip guts in half, then his swordplay is still alot better then that of Guts who gets tired after a few swings, plus guts normal-sized sword over Kratos's huge sword? Guts would never get close enough to him.

first of all, berserk has sold around 30 billion copies world wide and is hands down one of the most famous mangas out there today.
second, the anime was more of a promotion for the manga which is why they didn't make season2 for it.
third, guts gets tired after swing his sword a couple of times? please. he fought 100 people at the age of 18 and WON and it was from night all the way till morning. and this is when he was only 18 years old. in case you haven't read the manga, he has gotten A LOT stronger since then.
fourth, kratos is the guy who throws a hissy fit everytime things don't go his way. Guts is actually pretty introspective and if not fighting is always thinking about destiny, fate and his own role as a struggler. when was the last time Kratos showed even a glimpse of a thought process?
fifth, Kratos is the idiot who keeps swining his sword like a maniac when things don't go his way? who killed his own family? who impaled athena? who attacked his father without listening to one word of reason? who fought on and on and on in GOW2 without listening to one word of reason? his name is Kratos.
and for the record, normal Kratos was about to get pwned by a regular barbarian. he couldn't even beat ONE barbarian. let alone 100 trained mercenaries 😆

Kratos only beat a god after using the pandora's box......which made him as big as one and as strong as a god. so your point is nullified. Kratos didn't beat Ares on his own power..........you know it and any jackass who played god of war1 knows it too. so...no dice dude.
Kratos as a human got pwned by the barbarian and you still haven't offered a rebuttle yet. Guts didn't defeat a god because in his universe there is no godS. there is only god. he did, however, defeat Slan who is the 4th demon in the Godhand, the strongest demons in the world.
Kratos' swords have chains, i know, but you brought up SWORD FIGHTING hence my above comment. at any rate, his blades don't get THAT long anyway. also guts' sword isn't NORMAL. he has a six-to-seven foot sword that is a foot wide. and he weilds it with great power, skill and speed. later on in the manga he took on a legion of trolls (powerful demons) in their own lair and he killed them all while whistling.
also Kratos hasn't been through HALF the stuff Guts has. we both know that much don't we?

no kratos crawled out of a hell where there were skinny hands pulling him inside while he was dead. he was healed by Gaia and then he took his swords cut those skinny arms and got out.
compared to:
in a severely wounded condition with stitiches and broken ribs and internal bleeding, Guts fought a horde of giant demons that killed his whoe army and friends. he had no weapons except a knife that was broken until he broke off a horn off a demon and fought the demons that out ratiod him AT LEAST 100 to 1.
no dice dude.

guts is a normal human being, just stronger because he's lived a tough life and actually works out his shoulders and torso everyday since he was able to hold a sword..........by performing 200 swings of his sword.
gut's greatest feat of strength was tossing one soldier over the horse to knock off the rider with just one arm....and its still uncomparable to the stuff Kratos does. noone here is arguing that guts is stronger than Kratos since everyone knows that Kratos is a HELL of a lot stronger. but there is more to a mortal combat than just strength and guts always shows that by outlasting things a 1000 times stronger than him.

Gats gets tired after a few swings? See how you never read Berserk, man? After going one on one with Nosferatu Zod and being all broken, he was already up next day (banded) doing his usual sword swings practise, like nothing. And hes been doing it since he was a child.
Kratos may not be normal by any chance but Gutts doesnt fit in the category either. He gets hits from Zod and other beasts and still gets up, while other "normal" guys kiss the floor once and stay there.

I still think he would probably beat guts though, so far anyone has said is that he woudn't and the only real reason being because of his experience as a soldier, well that's fine but Kratos being born in Roman times would have definately undergone some kind of fighting/technical battle training im sure.
I just don't see Guts winning.
