It's been long enough, learn to laugh a bit. Yeah the event sucked, oh well, lets move on with our lives now.

its not even that. if someone made an actual mockery of the event i would certainly be pissed. but the whole premise of the joke was just mention something in vague passing which is factually unlaughable. so its like "lol you assh0le" so, replace '9/11' with the holocaust. it wouldnt be like someone's saying "lol 6 million dead jews". its just a ****ing word.
but there will always be drama thugs who insist on changing the premise of the joke just to browbeat. so "9/11" becomes "lol 3000+ people murdered"

btw, i live about 10 miles from ground zero, so i dont want to hear the "you have no right to express your opinion" post. then again nobody has the right to do that regardless, but just saying

Ive laughed at 2 funerals. I dont feel bad about it but I was given a couple looks when a couple people noticed.

I smiled at my granddads funeral. I was recalling all the good times he and I shared. My dad was like WTF?

i lol'd at my granddad's funeral. the priest doing the eulogy had a speech impediment and talked like the priest from princess bride. "...in howy matwimony fow evaaaaw and evaaaaw..." didnt feel the least bit guilty since im positive my grandpa would have gotten a kick out of it as well. in fact the guy was a total joker so i found it perfectly appropriate.
