It just seems to remind me of some of the old Kirby/Lee stories

Either way, McDuffie basically made this arc to revive Gravity, because he's been planning on it since the end of Beyond.

Still though, the characterization was dead on.

Although I don't like how Gravity was able to "hurt" Galactus or how Cosmic Torch wasn't able to take down Stardust

In the end, it was a good arc, especially since the book has been garbage since Waid left

Doom's Cosmic Stealing Device was created in FF #57 or #59 (I'm not sure which one), which came LONG LONG LONG before Jack Kirby left Marvel and created the new gods for DC

Thus if anything, Orion stole Doom's designs, not the other way around 😉

The cosmic stealing thing was actually quite clever I agree.

Yeah he wrote himself into a hole and just let the FF stalemating heralds things hang. And then at the end he needed a way to get rid of Galactus and apparently couldn't find anything better.
